Amsterdam, July 16 2011
On Thursday, June 16 the jury of the Dutch 00/24 Horloges Watch of the Year announced the awards in 8 categories for the best watches of 2011. The jury (10 well-known Dutch watch specialists, watch makers and watch enthusiasts) decided to select winners in 7 categories (men’s watches in 4 price segments, women’s watches, innovation and one special award of the jury); the eighth award was the Reader’s Award. This was the first time readers of the magazine could cast their vote and almost 7.000 of them actually did, using the specially developed voting tool on the website. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire won the Watch of the Year Award in the category 10’000 – 25’000 EURO. "The jury was impressed by the Jaeger-LeCoultre-entry. A beautiful movement with two separate drives for time indication and all complications. A technological marvel, beautifully styled and finished".
