Jaeger-LeCoultre supports Emergency: Helping Sierra Leone

Gathered at the 70th Venice Mostra, a number of celebrities have joined forces with watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre to offer their support to Emergency, the humanitarian charity which was founded in 1994 in order to support civilian victims of wars and poverty.

It offered an occasion for the watchmaking manufacture, Jaeger-LeCoultre to reaffirm its commitment to Emergency.
Since 2001, Emergency has been running a paediatric and surgical centre at Goderich, on the outskirts of Freetown: the only modern and high-level facility offering free health care for all. The centre is currently undergoing expansion and Jaeger-LeCoultre is offering financial support to the refurbishment of the emergency service, the radiology unit and the annex cloakroom.

An original red carpet
On Thursday 29th August, Jaeger-LeCoultre offered its support to this important project in the guise of an original red carpet, conjured up by "Bubble Magician" Michele Cafaggi. A number of celebrities gathered at the Hotel Excelsior in an atmosphere evoking memories of childhood, for a gala dinner concocted by German chef Ernst Knam and a live concert by Edoardo Benato. An haute horlogerie timepiece was donated as a gift to the charity to help fund the centre.
