Extract from the Archives

With the growing interest and value of its antique and vintage timepieces, Jaeger-LeCoultre has recently started offering collectors a special document, called an “Extract from the Archives” which states the origin of the timepieces crafted in the Jaeger-LeCoultre workshops. The information is comprehensive, including such information as model, calibre, functions, exterior, production date and distinctive features of the timepiece. The “Extract from the Archives” thus provides authentic documentation to accompany Jaeger-LeCoultre’s historical timepieces. An elegant package for a valuable timepiece Inspired by Manufacture’s 19th century share certificates, each Extract from the Archives is made from precious paper, embellished with silver heat-embossed or laser-engraved motifs, and protected by a hand-assembled booklet. Each Extract is signed by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Antique Watch Expert, and bears the official seal of the Heritage department. How to order your Extract from the Archives: There are two ways to request an Extract from the Archives for your timepiece: 1) The Contact section of the website 2) The Customer Service department in your country. To initiate the order, please provide our Antique Watch Expert with as much photographic information as possible, such as photos of the watch or clock, of its movement, as well as the case and calibre numbers if possible. A fee of CHF 300 is charged to cover the cost of archival research. The first Extract from the Archives was devoted to the famous 1958 Geophysic Chronometer which accompanied the first ascent of a virgin Himalayan peak now christened Mount Antoine LeCoultre. Auctioned by Jaeger-LeCoultre on behalf of UNESCO, this antique steel watch sold for over 20,000 Swiss francs. Jaeger-LeCoultre also invites you to join the LeClub, the space for watch lovers and collectors on-line. LeClub includes an active Blog, a proprietary watchmaking game, and in-depth and avant-premiere information on new timepieces and news.
