History

Instant chronograph

One of LeCoultre & Cie’s first patents was to protect an instant chronograph counter device. Rather than advancing with each oscillation, the hand jumps from one unit to the next, thus improving legibility of the counter. Since 1888, when the system of intellectual property protection was created in Switzerland, the Manufacture has filed over 400 patents in all areas of watchmaking: complications, cases, power reserve, ruggedness, precision, etc.
