Jaeger-LeCoultre, the official timekeeper for the 2011 FIP Polo World Cup

It was a grand affair at the recent FIP Polo World Cup Qualifying for Zone D Asian-Australasian-African Championships, which saw India emerged as champions. This qualifier, held for the very first time on Malaysian polo grounds at the Royal Selangor Polo Club in Kuala Lumpur witnessed India and Pakistan battling out in an entertaining 6 chukka game with India taking the game with a 12-9 score line. The top three teams of the tournament namely India, Pakistan and Australia will qualify for the FIP Polo World Cup Finals in San Luis, Argentina, happening this October. The event was attended by special guests that included the Sultan of Pahang, HRH Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Crown Prince of Pahang HRH Tengku Abdullah, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, and other foreign dignitaries including the High Commissioner of India in Malaysia, Mr. Vijay K Gokhale, High Commissioner of Pakistan in Malaysia, His Excellency, Masood Khalid, Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria, Mr Baba Tunde A Nurudeen, High Commissioner of Singapore Dato’ HE T Jasudasen and Ambassador of Japan, Ambassador Shigeru Nakamura. The winners each walked away with a coveted Jaeger-LeCoultre iconic timepiece, the Reverso Grande Taille. The watch features a specially engraved FIP Polo World Cup logo on the reverse side. Crafted with dedication and precision, this will be a collector’s item for many. The masterpiece showcases the best work of the engraving artists based in Switzerland.
