22 September 2004. At the Service Centre of the Paris dealership, Auto Performance, Jérôme Lambert and Dr. Ulrich Bez announced together the partnership between their two companies, and introduced the first timepiece, scheduled to be launched some months later. Inspired by a watch from the heritage of the Manufacture, the 1965 Memovox, it houses the automatic Memovox calibre which is one of the rare watch movements to boast a career spanning more than half a century. The AMVOX1 Alarm gives a contemporary twist to a traditional theme. The design of its dial recalls vintage dashboard counters with its numerals arranged in a 270º sweep. The alarm time indication, readable at first glance, is also a nod in the direction of car gauges. The alarm is designed to strike a suspended gong, creating an unforgettable acoustical experience, while the grained calfskin leather of the chocolate brown or black straps is faithful to the original leather used in the upholstery of Aston Martin cars.
