The Master Compressor Diving opened a new chapter in the history of Jaeger-LeCoultre diving watches. The first models were presented off the shores of Hawaii where a Master Compressor Diving GMT was lowered to a depth of 1000 metres to demonstrate its resistance to extreme pressures. For the Pro Geographic model the engineers developed a mechanical depth gauge using a technique directly inspired by the capsule used in the Atmos clocks. Since 2009, special models have been made for the elite corps of the US Army, the Navy SEALs.
