A pencil, a blank sheet of paper and above all the Jaeger-LeCoultre philosophy is all the designers need, when drawing the faces of watches destined to become legends. In the beginning was the word, or rather, the sketch. Their first rôle is to outline the ideas, display a function or visualise a new concept. They are interpreters of the Manufacture’s language of shapes. Always attentive to current tastes but with one eye turned towards the future, they remain true to the firm’s long traditions. It is just this fusion of tenses, this cohesion between past, present and future which characterises the design of a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.
