If one image were to rest in the mind from this festival, it would undoubtedly be the long-awaited moment of the awarding of the Golden Lion. Is there any greater source of satisfaction for an actor, actress or director than to see their talent rewarded?
As in previous years, Jaeger-LeCoultre has once again rewarded each of the prize-winners of the 69th Venice International Film Festival with their own personalised Reverso watches. These unique timepieces are decorated with the lion, the symbol of the city of canals, and bear the inscription “69th Mostra”.
During the closing ceremony held at the city’s Palazzo del Cinema, the Korean director Kim Ki-Duk was awarded the much-coveted Golden Lion for his film Pieta. The Israeli actress Hadas Yaron won the award for Best Actress thanks to her role in the film 'Lemale Et Ha'Chalal' and the prize for Best Actor went to Philip Seymour Hoffman for his performance in The Master.
