Environmental Impact

  • Jaeger-LeCoultre s'engage dans la protection de l'environnement
Compensating for carbon dioxide emissions Jaeger-LeCoultre daily acts to reduce its ecological footprint. This commitment takes the form of the progressive application to its infrastructures, products and production methods of the most relevant and best-recognised international certifications and norms, such as the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council, the Responsible Jewellery Council or the Minergie label. Aware of the need to preserve the resources around it, the brand has geared its sustainable development policy towards the responsible use of natural resources such as wood and water, control of energy consumption and of non-renewable resources, stringent checking of the origin of its materials and the development of recycling processes. Jaeger-LeCoultre also regularly takes action within its Manufacture and its subsidiaries in order to encourage its partners and its personnel to adopt an eco-responsible attitude. In parallel with its constant efforts to reduce its environmental impact, Jaeger-LeCoultre has committed itself alongside the Richemont Group as a whole to compensating for its residual carbon dioxide emissions. The quantities of carbon dioxide emitted by the various infrastructures (the factory, the boutiques, the subsidiaries) and generated by the professional travel of its personnel, are evaluated each year and compensated by funding eco-responsible projects. For the 2008 year, the Brand compensated the equivalent of 1,962 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
