Jaeger-LeCoultre, ladies’ collection: A tribute to 180 years of watchmaking know-how

05.07.13

Jaeger-LeCoultre is where a woman has her Rendez-Vous with time. With its feminine creations the Joux Valley manufacture crystallizes the meeting of Fine Watchmaking and High Jewellery, dreaming up pieces to accompany daily living, to grace an evening or share exceptional moments. This year, the Rendez-Vous and Reverso collections are putting on a more seductive look. Complicated, ultra-thin, mechanical, they concentrate the freedom of creation and the watchmaking know-how and craftsmanship that have served the Grande Maison for 180 years.

Rendez-Vous Perpetual Calendar
Eternity within your hand’s grasp. The Rendez-Vous Perpetual Calendar displays infinite time. Driven by the self-winding movement Jaeger-LeCoultre 868 Calibre, visible through the sapphire case back, its dial lays out the complexity of time with disarming ease. The sober design combines within its 37.5 mm diameter classic elements and the aesthetic inspiration of the Grande Maison. Legibility is perfect.

Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Night & Day
Is your eye drawn to the hypnotic motion of the tourbillon? Or by the gracefully changing Day-Night indication? While the hours and minutes move forward at their leisurely pace, the time is also expressed in these additional complications. Carrying on from the Rendez-Vous Tourbillon models presented in previous years, the new Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Night & Day has chosen to lighten its hour chapter of the normal separations between the numerals inspired by the 1930s in order to better showcase the complications.

Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Wild
Right from the start, the rare crafts of the Grande Maison have striven to beautify the hours displayed on watches. Combining their know-how, pushing the limits of creativity and ingenuity, they have seen the emergence of pieces that would stop time in its tracks. The Rendez-Vous Wild is a new creation that invites several of these age-old crafts to combine their talents to stir up the emotions.

Grande Reverso Lady Ultra Thin Duetto Duo
It features among the 400 patented by the Grande Maison over the past 180 years. The Duetto Duo pushes the limits of design. Reversible, with double aesthetic, double time zone, one single mechanism, and now ultra-thin: the challenge was only equalled by the ingenuity of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmakers. Dreamed up exclusively for the female, the Grande Reverso Lady Ultra Thin Duetto Duo brings extreme delicacy to the complexity of its mechanism. Its svelte lines come in three versions - steel, white or pink gold, in a case which elegantly fits onto the slenderest wrists thanks to its curved lugs.

Grande Reverso Ultra Thin High Jewellery
Dressed in pink or white gold, the body of the new Grande Reverso Ultra Thin High Jewellery is sprinkled with over 90 diamonds. Set by hand, the reversible case flaunts its 7.87mm thin profile. It fits like a second skin onto the wrist thanks to its curved lugs. The natural mother-of-pearl dial plays on its iridescent glints. An exquisite setting for the appliqué Arabic numerals whose dancing calligraphy softens the geometry of the case. The white gold model comes with a white alligator skin strap which adds a fresh elegance to the watch’s personality. The pink gold version extends onto a gold bracelet whose links offer perfect suppleness to the wearer for a smart contemporary effect.

Reverso Cordonnet Duetto
Decorated by the rare crafts of the Grande Maison, this new High Jewellery creation exalts the Duetto concept in a blaze of over 1250 diamonds. Inspired by a Jaeger-LeCoultre model from 1936, this jewel watch plays a symphony of aesthetics and technique. Fully gem-set, the Reverso Cordonnet Duetto encloses the wrist in its perfectly fluid cord strap. That is the complete beauty of the ultimate in watchmaking magnified by the jeweller’s art.

With the passing centuries and passing fashions, woman has determined the aesthetic of the time and how to wear them, yet she has also made her own demands for innovations and complications and married beauty and function, thus letting watchmaking draw from the art of jewellery to emancipate itself. The new Rendez-Vous and Reverso are the proof of this. They in turn write a new episode in the ceaseless creativity of the Grande Maison. Proving that time and its complexity are not just intended for man.
