Singapore was honored to be the first in Asia to unveil the new Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge. Jaeger-LeCoultre watches enthusiasts and collectors were gathered together at the Boutique of The Raffles Hotel Arcades for this “red” celebration of the iconic timepiece, paying tribute to one of the rarest and most sought-after historical Reversos.
The special evening celebrated a “Time reversible and colourful, since 1931”. Since its birth, the Reverso watch has consistently reinvented itself, while never betraying its identity. Housing over 50 in-housed made calibers, it has featured several hundred dials displaying a wealth of nuances that continue to stir the passions of collectors and devotees of fine objects. In the golden 1930s, the palette of dials became to be distinctly non-conformist with blue, chestnut, and for those who dared to display a well-assumed dandyism, a vibrating red colour.
As Singapore just celebrated the Chinese New Year, period if which red color is auspicious and found everywhere, all the guests knew perfectly the powerful symbolism of it, embodying life, desire, power, love, good fortune and happiness.
Besides the brilliant Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge, four new Reversos were showcased from the new 2012 collection and embodied the rare crafts cultivated within the Manufacture: the art of openworked movement with the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin SQ. The art of enamelling: the Grande Reverso Enamel, with a magnificient Grand Feu blue dial, and the expertise of in-house watchmaking, with the grained-grey dial 1931 white gold Reverso, and the new Grande Reverso Calendar.
The Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge and the new Reversos will be now showcased for one week at the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Among the watches from the Manufacture’s patrimony, you will admire the original Reverso with red lacquered solid silver, dated 1931, Calibre LeCoultre 063, and the Reverso with Blue Dial, dated 1933, Calibre LeCoultre 410 (this extremely rare watch was auctioned b y Artcurial Paris on November 29th 2011 for the record sum of 48,000 Euros).
