The world famous rugby players visited Manufacture before the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2011
All of the four players have left a profound mark in rugby winning several national or international competitions and are considered today as real icons in the International Rugby world.
Agustin Pichot has been selected 75 times to play in the Argentinean team and captained his national team 19 times including the 2007 World Cup.
John Eales is one of only 6 rugby players in the world to have won two World Cups (in 1991 and in 1999). He has been selected 84 times to play in the Australian team, captained it 55 times including the 1999 World Cup.
Raphael Ibanez has been selected 98 times for the French national team which he captained 42 times including the 2007 World Cup.
Diego Dominguez is the best scorer for the Italian team for which he played 73 times scoring a yet unequalled total of 971 points.
During their visit to the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, the star sportsmen followed the process of creation of iconic products such as Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso that celebrates this year the 80th anniversary since its creation as a ground-breaking concept of a robust and elegant sports watch.
"It was a fantastic experience, - said Augustin Pichot. - Everyone in the Manufacture was working like a real team. Detail, perfection and passion are the ingredients to produce such a fine product. In the field it is the same, everyone working as a team, sharing those values and the responsibility of each one doing their best".
A walk in the factory through different areas of craftsmanship where the process of creation is never ending was followed by a tour of the museum of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking history that goes back to almost 180 years.
“During my visit I had a chance to discover the savoir-faire of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Each watch imagined, designed and finally created is an object of such an incredible attention to detail! Engagement and passion determine the success of this enterprise, and those are the values that I share”, - concluded Raphael Ibanez.
With Jaeger-LeCoultre, a respect for tradition lives on along with the spirit of invention, that allow the company to be the reference in fine watchmaking and speak to the circle of people who are in pursuit of what can only be achieved with a long preparation, a real team spirit and a lot of talent, just like in the tough and fascinating world of rugby.
