The Duomètre a Quantième Lunaire Montre de l’Année 2010
On Thursday evening in front of more than 500 persons, the watch Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire in pink gold received the most votes this year to win the Public Prize for the Watch of the Year. The public from all around the world voted online for this exclusive novelty. Its unique style and technical features allow the Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire to be part of the most exclusive segment of High Horology. The Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire embodies the latest achievements in horological research from the Jaeger-LeCoultre laboratories: it displays time with a jumping seconds hand showing 1/6th of a second increments and additionally providing the date and the age of the moon in a separate sub dial. The true genius of this watch however lies within the Dual-Wing movement concept, which features two independent power supplies: one entirely dedicated to creating a perfect timing foundation – regulated by escapement and balance –, the other solely for the display of time – hour, minute and seconds hands – as well as date and the age of the moon for the Northern as well as the Southern hemisphere. Both are synchronized through the jumping seconds hand mechanism driven by the escapement. In 2004 the Public Prize was awarded to Master Hometime, and in 2007 Duomètre à Chronographe received this prestigious award. The Manufacture is honoured to receive this prize and wishes to congratulate its teams for their unstinting prowess, the legacy of 177 years of expertise in the field of Haute Horlogerie.
