The Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire - Watch of the Year for “Chronos24.pl” 2010
On October 1st, Chronos24.pl, the platform dedicated to wristwatches aficionados, launched a special website devoted to the first edition of the “Watch of the Year 2010”. Among the most innovative and most refined timepieces, the jury nominated three Jaeger-LeCoultre watches in two categories: the Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire and the Master Grande Tradition Grande Complication in the Complicated Watches category; and the Master Tourbillon Plumes in the Ladies’ Watch category. On December 10th 2010, in the Sobañski –Palace – the seat of the Polish Business Roundtable in Warsaw – the winners of the "Watch of the Year" competition were announced. The Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire convinced the Polish jury and won first place in the Complicated Watch category. In accepting the award, Mr. Wolfgang Lackner, Brand Manager, said: “The Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire embodies the latest in horological achievements by Jaeger-LeCoultre. With the Duomètre line, we are breaking new ground in terms of the accuracy of mechanical wristwatches, since it incorporates a completely new movement structure in order to gain the highest possible precision. And obviously, the classical watchmaking and beautiful design of the line further enrich its appeal to our customers”. This watch contains a new development of the "Dual-Wing" concept, with Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 381, and a new openworked dial revealing the details of the movement, along with an indication of the moon phases and a jumping seconds hand. A new stop seconds device for the jumping seconds hand enables 1/6th of a second precision when setting the time. This timepiece is available in pink gold and a limited series of 300 in yellow gold. The competition and the award ceremony were organized in close cooperation with the Polish Watch & Clock Collectors Club, under the patronage of Manager MBA magazine.
