Auction Night

August 28, 2007 - Palazzo Querini Dubois, in Venice.

During the Pre-opening Ceremony of the 64th Venice International Film Festival, Davide Croff, President of the Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia; Marco Müller, Director of the Venice International Film Festival and Ambra Angiolini, patroness of the 64th Mostra, welcomed 200 guests in the Palazzo Querini Dubois.

The Pre-opening Ceremony featured the auction of a limited series of Reverso watches autographed by major personalities from the world of motion pictures. With bidders from countries such as Italy, Lebanon, France and the United States, the six Reverso Grande Automatique, each respectively engraved with the signature of major personalities from the world of motion pictures, were sold in less than one hour and the entire proceeds donated to the "Fund for Cinema".

The auction was followed by the projection of the film “Gli uomini che mascalzioni”. This film was one of the highlights of the very first edition of the Venice International Film Festival, screened on August 11, 1932.
