Mechanical membrane depth gauge

The chamber on the side of the case houses a blackened steel membrane that expands or contracts according to the aquatic pressure exercised upon it. Its movements are passed on to the pointer-type display indication via an ingenious transmission system that is partially visible through the dial centre. The depth indication ranges from 0 to 80-metre.

A multi-level dial

Six juxtaposed levels integrate the multiple items of information: the dual time-zone display, the 24-hour selection disc, the hour circle incorporating a double date window, the operating indicator with its luminescent pointer, and the depth indication appearing on the outer dial ring.

The Geographic movement

The modern, sturdy and reliable Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 979 features a multiple time-zone indication enabling the user to select a city and see the time there automatically displayed. It is also the first to enrich this function with fast adjustment of the main time-zone, an extremely useful feature when travelling.
