Hybris Mechanica 55 unveiled in Asia
Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled its latest timepieces for the first time in Singapore
Selected guests in Asia were invited to be the first to preview Jaeger-LeCoultre’s newest Masterpiece, epitomizing Swiss watchmaking and the highest complication ever reached, the Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie. They could also discover the latest High Jewellery Collection, including the 101.
From the 28th – 30th of September, guests from all over Asia: China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore were invited to the Capella Resorts in Singapore to participate in a 3-day-2-night program. During the 3 days they were able to experience the Hybris Mechanica 55 Coffret with the CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre, Mr Jérôme Lambert.
The Hybris Mechanica 55, a new set of three unprecedented masterpieces, adds to Jaeger-LeCoultre's reputation for excellence. Reflecting the extraordinary value of these three exceptional wristwatches, they will be delivered in an exclusive safe finished with the finest details imaginable and meeting the latest security standards. Together, this landmark set of the most complicated wristwatches ever conceived and created depicts the present state of Haute Horlogerie and showcases the greatest achievements in the 176-year-long history of the Grande Maison.
Among the three timepieces, the exceptional Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie epitomizes a truly remarkable challenge. It also clearly demonstrates that the Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux intends to position itself at the greatest height of watchmaking hierarchy. The Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie is a masterpiece. This is the most complicated timepiece in the world featuring 26 complications and is the only wristwatch with chimes that ring a total of 36 notes, 2500 notes in a day. It also includes among all its attributes, a minute repeater, a flying tourbillon and a perpetual calendar.
A Grande Sonnerie would be nothing without high quality sound. In this regard, Jaeger-LeCoultre has taken the lead with its studies beginning in 2005 conducted on the patented crystal gong of the Minute Repeater.
