High-tech ceramic

After a mixture of zirconium and yttrium oxides is brought to temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees under high pressure, this high-tech ceramic is ground using special tools covered with diamond crystals to obtain the shape of the case. Its properties of sturdiness and stability are unmatched.

The fascination of complications

The tourbillon comes alive in a bevelled, drawn and polished titanium carriage treated with ruthenium. The patented date hand makes a bigger jump between the 31st and the 1st so the escapement is always visible. A second time zone with AM/PM indicator rounds out the display.

Avant-garde materials

For the first time, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 988C incorporates the Master Compressor Extreme LAB’s patented winding rotor. Its geometry and use of avant-garde materials (alloy of platinum and iridium, carbon fibres) offers significant improvement in winding performance.
