THE DIVING ALARM
The Memovox Polaris was an exceptionally large watch for the 1960s, measuring 42 mm, and benefitted from a remarkable water resistance, to a depth of 200 metres. The watch was fitted with a patented Compressor case: a spring-loaded compression system ensured such water resistance thanks to a flat rubber gasket maintained under permanent tension. This system was particularly useful as it meant that the further down the diver went (and the water pressure increased), the more resistant the case became.
