A GLOBAL SCIENTIFIC VENTURE
Not only was the Geophysic launched to celebrate the Maison’s 125th anniversary, it was also unveiled to coincide with the International Geophysic Year, a global scientific event reuniting experts from 67 countries from July 1957 to December 1958. As Jaeger-LeCoultre wished to take part in this extraordinary project, which was the starting point for international cooperation in Antarctica, the Manufacture developed a timepiece meant to display its extraordinary savoir-faire.
THE COLLECTOR’S GUIDE
TIMEPIECES WITH A STORY
The Collectibles book is an incredible in-depth look of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking history as it is the first time such detailed information on key 20th-century models has been brought together in a single volume. Written by the experts within La Grande Maison, it covers the period from 1925 to 1974, surveying 17 of the most significant models produced by the Manufacture. Impressively exhaustive, the book features detailed background stories as well as informative photography and historic documents from the Manufacture’s archives.
