OVERVIEW
DESIGNED FOR ULTIMATE WEARABILITY
DESIGN
COMPACT ELEGANCE WITH A SPORTING SOUL
The Polaris Date pays homage to its diving legacy and vintage appeal in a 40 mm diameter, enhancing comfort, wearability and versatility.
REDUCED PROPORTIONS FOR ULTIMATE WEARABILITY
The Polaris Date is presented in a more compact 40 mm case with a thinner profile of 12.9 mm to preserve the ideal proportions of its bold purposeful design. The case features taut lines, sharply curving lugs, a glass-box crystal, and an eye-catching mix of brushed and polished surfaces.
42 LAYERS TO CRAFT UNRIVALLED DEPTH
The signature Polaris Date dial requires a lengthy and exacting process. After the grained and sunray finish are crafted, 7 layers of coloured lacquer and 35 layers of translucent lacquer are successively applied and finally meticulously polished by hand to create the mesmerizing double gradient dial with profound depth.
UNCOMPROMISED READABILITY
For optimum readability, the dial showcases a balanced mix of opaline, grained and sunrayed surfaces clearly defining each key dial segment. Coated with blue Super-LumiNova®, the bold trapezoid indexes, Arabic numerals and skeletonized hands stand out with perfect clarity, during both day and night.
The Polaris’ strong lines and sharp aesthetic imbue the collection with a sporting soul, embodying true elegance with a restless spirit of adventure.
FUNCTIONS
ENDURING RELIABILITY FOR DAILY ADVENTURES
Powered by the robust in-house automatic Calibre 899, offering a 70-hour power reserve and combining mechanical elegance with high performance, the Polaris Date is equally at home in an urban cityscape or the oceanic depths with its 20-bar water resistance.
HIGH-PERFORMING ESSENTIALS
True to Polaris’s heritage, the piece features a rotating inner bezel, controlled by the crown at the 2 o’clock, allowing the wearer to measure timing offsets or countdowns. This useful function is completed by the date display at 3 o'clock.
MOVEMENT
218 DECORATED COMPONENTS
A sapphire crystal case-back and discreet open-worked oscillating weight reveal the intricate workings of the finely finished Calibre 899. The 218 components showcase decorations such as Côtes de Genève, perlage, burnishing, polished screws, linear and circular smoothing.
HERITAGE
A SPORTING HERITAGE BORN IN THE 1960S
In 1968, a new era was born with the launch of the Memovox Polaris, a watch housed in an unconventional large case, whose alarm function elevated the piece as an iconic diving watch. This distinctive watch was a bold statement of intent from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmakers and the same sense of dauntless ambition and thirst for adventure continues across the Polaris collection today.
