COLLABORATION
TIMELESS ICON TOLD THROUGH A NEW LENS
Introducing Olivecoat, a Webcomic designer, who brings her creative talent to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Made of Makers programme. By crafting an archive-inspired webcomic, she captures the story of Reverso through a contemporary lens reinventing the 9th art.

CREATION
REINVENTING THE 9TH ART
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s desire to create a webcomic arose from the aim to transform traditional narratives into visually immersive designs.
The Reverso webcomic exemplifies the essence of compelling storytelling, elegantly echoing the classical unities of time, place and action. As a serialised, vertical-scrolling comic tailored for mobile platforms, the collaboration brings the craftsmanship of watchmaking into the realm of digital-native storytelling.

I love watching shows where the character dynamics feel fleshed out, like real humans rather than characters on a page, and I think that's what drives me.
MAKERS
OLIVECOAT: THE WEBCOMIC DESIGNER
Olivecoat, a self-taught webcomic artist from Cebu, Philippines, gained international recognition for her delicate art style and strong storytelling. She began drawing to explore emotions and create safe spaces and after a decade-long career in interior design, she returned to her passion developing the webcomic "Honbarian" with her sister in 2021.
For the webcomic designer, storytelling transcends craft – it is a means to connect, reflect, and reveal subtle human truths. Her work is deeply rooted in authentic character dynamics, inspired by stories where characters feel like real people.

PROGRAMME
MADE OF MAKERS: REIMAGINING CREATIVE EXPRESSION
Made of Makers encapsulates a series of collaborations with artists and with artisans from various disciplines outside watchmaking, building a community of creators with similar values and visions of creativity, and provoking new conversations. With intense respect for the person in the process – the creativity of the mind and the skill of the hand – the programme focuses on creative souls who share the Maison’s values and whose work explores new forms of expression.
