ENAMEL HORSE
OVERVIEW
REVERSO TRIBUTE ENAMEL HORSE
In tribute to the 2026 Lunar New Year, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the Reverso Tribute Enamel ‘Horse’. Created to coincide with Lunar New Year, the timepiece pays tribute to the sign of the Horse, and to the talents of the master enamellers and engravers in the Métiers Rares™ atelier of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
COMBINING MÉTERS RARES™ CRAFTS
To maximise the sense of volume and depth, the master engraver used a technique called modelled engraving –using 10 different sized chisels to sculpt the metal step by step - an exacting skill that requires absolute focus and remarkable dexterity. Perfectly paired in colour and purity, the dial features the same opaque black Grand Feu enamel as the case-back.

80 HOURS OF HAND-ENGRAVING
Turning the watch case to its reverse side reveals a hand-engraved horse emerging powerfully from a wreath of golden clouds, set against a background of glossy black Grand Feu enamel. The polished surfaces of the horse’s body, the fine details of its mane – which are hand-drawn with black rhodium – and the contrasting sandblasted texture of the clouds catch and refract the light to enhance the illusion of movement.

A SIMPLE YET UNPREDICTABLE ENAMELLED DIAL
The dial of the Reverso Tribute Enamel ‘Horse’ features the same black Grand Feu enamel as the case-back. The apparent simplicity of the pure black Grand Feu enamel is deceptive because in Grand Feu enamelling, the outcome of the firing process is never entirely predictable. To create a black of such depth and richness perfectly matching on the recto and verso requires 24 hours of work.

CALIBRE
A RECTANGULAR HEART
The manually wound calibre 822 that drives the Reverso Tribute Enamel Horse watch is the epitome of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s philosophy. Entirely designed, produced and assembled in-house, calibre 822 is an uncommon rectangular movement allowing it to fit in the Reverso watch case.

HERITAGE
THE BIRTH OF AN ICON
In 1931, Jaeger-LeCoultre launched a watch that was destined to become a classic of 20th-century design: the Reverso. As an object that so deftly synthesised form and function, it has become one of the most recognisable watches of all time, looking as fresh and modern today as when it first appeared.
While its blank metal flip side had begun as a purely functional solution to avoid damage to the dial, it was an ideal surface for personalisation with monograms, emblems or personal messages using lacquer, engraving, enamel or gemstones.
