Opening a season of celebration, ‘Telling Time Telling Stories’ honours the art of crafting time and the stories hidden within. Like every great story, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watches are filled with intricate details and hidden depths. Each complication is a chapter, each movement a plot twist.
Sharing the same values of creativity, expertise and precision, webcomic designer Olivecoat has created an archive-inspired fictional narrative that reimagines the genesis of the Reverso. Blending Eastern visual traditions with the classical codes of comic art, she transforms heritage into a contemporary narrative, offering a fresh and authentic vision of a timeless icon.

VINTAGE ALLURE

The Rendez-Vous Moon showcases the Manufacture’s dedication to artistry through its dial's refined details. Mirror-polished hemispheres subtly indicate the hours along the outer ring, while the collection's signature floral numerals are paired with blue floral hands. The guilloché pattern on the dial creates a captivating, irregular sunray effect, adding both texture and depth. The 60 brilliant-cut diamonds dazzle around the bezel and the 47 others on the dial spotlighting the moon phase create luminous details.

Paying homage to the diving watches of the 1960s, the Polaris Chronograph features a sophisticated blue lacquered dial adorned with orange accents. A change of just one degree Celsius is enough to power it for 48 hours, allowing it to run silently and almost eternally without the need for winding. With its pure, transparent design illuminated by a luminous halo, this timepiece is both a kinetic sculpture and an exceptional piece of timekeeping mastery.

Guided by creativity, driven by authenticity and storytelling fueled by genuine human interactions, her work blends finely detailed illustration with a contemporary narrative voice, offering a fresh perspective on heritage and time.

Olivecoat has created a complete narrative in the form of an original webcomic, paying tribute to the origin story of the Reverso. Printed in a limited edition to be offered to selected clients and collectors, it is published online for the public.
