EDUCATION
INVESTING IN EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Inherited from our founder Antoine-LeCoultre, the Value of Work is a principle that we hold very dear within our Maison. By keeping this value alive, we honour our rich heritage and innovate to create the masterpieces of tomorrow.
For many years, La Grande Maison has made it a priority to invest in education, not only within the Manufacture, through apprenticeships and other skills-development programmes, but also in the surrounding community. Our community investment aligns with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s long history of supporting young generations and facilitating knowledge exchange.
OUR ACTIONS
Jaeger-LeCoultre has a long-term partnership with l’Ecole Technique de la Vallée de Joux (ETVJ). The school was created in 1901 in the Vallée de Joux. Since 1992, Jaeger-LeCoultre has welcomed apprentices in its workshops. In 2021, it inaugurated a new craftsmanship centre to welcome young talent (apprentices or interns). Originally dedicated to watchmaking, the apprenticeship includes new skills, such as micro-engineering and quality control.
FOUNDATION
FONDATION ANTOINE LECOULTRE
In 1943, to honour the memory of the founder, our Maison established the non-profit-making fund, Fonds Antoine LeCoultre, to provide occasional and extraordinary assistance to employees, workers, apprentices, and retirees of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre when they are faced with financial difficulties resulting from exceptional events, a form of support that an employer has no obligation to provide. In 2013, at the request of the Supervisory Authority, Fonds Antoine LeCoultre was transformed into a classic non-profit foundation and became Fondation Antoine LeCoultre.
