REINVENTING TRAVEL TIME

With its distinctive style, the Polaris Geographic captures the Jaeger-LeCoultre’s spirit of elegance in contemporary sporting style, allowing travelers to roam the world, simultaneously reading the time in two time zones.

STRONG DESIGN CODES

The Polaris case is distinguished by off-centred crowns, taut lines, glass-box crystals, narrow bezels and a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. The displays are arranged in a pleasingly asymmetric layout, with the second time zone in a sub-dial at 6 o’clock and the power reserve indicator in the upper left sector of the dial.

A DIAL MADE OF 35 LAYERS OF LACQUER

Evocative with an air of mystery, the ocean-grey lacquered dial is applied in a double gradient finish that adds visual depth and dynamism. Composed of almost 40 steps including 35 layers of lacquer, the process of achieving this colour is very complex. Enhancing legibility, orange accents draw the eye to key information points, contrasting with the luminescent coating on the indexes, numerals and hands.

FUNCTIONS

A CITY SELECTOR LIKE NO OTHER

Featuring the hour of a second time zone, the Geographic complication also provides a 24-hour Night and Day indicator and, in an aperture at the bottom of the dial, displays the name of a city relating to each of the 24 major time zones, with those that observe daylight savings clearly marked.

CALIBRE

A HIGH-PERFORMING CALIBRE

The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the finely finished automatic movement, Calibre 939. Offering a power reserve of 70 hours, a quintessential example of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s approach to watchmaking, it combines mechanical elegance with high performance.

STRAPS

A STRAP FOR EVERY ADVENTURE

Underlining the versatility of this confident and refined expression of a highly useful complication, the Polaris Geographic is presented with an interchangeable folding buckle and a pair of interchangeable straps – a textured black rubber and a blue-grey canvas – that enable a change in style and attitude in a matter of moments.

HERITAGE

A SPORTING HERITAGE BORN IN THE 1960S

In 1968, a new era was born with the launch of the Memovox Polaris, a watch housed in an unconventional large case, whose alarm function elevated the piece as an iconic diving watch. This distinctive watch was a bold statement of intent from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmakers and the same sense of dauntless ambition and thirst for adventure continues across the Polaris collection today.
