Leather straps
Maintaining leather watch straps in optimal condition
Leather is a delicate and sensitive living material that requires particular care and attention.
To preserve its qualities and conserve it for as long as possible, we recommend that you avoid the following situations:
- contact with water
- exposure to excessive humidity, which may deform and discolor the material
- prolonged exposure to sunlight, which may have a harmful effect on its color and quality
- cosmetics and oily materials, which can stain the leather, which is a permeable material
Metal bracelets
Maintaining metal bracelets in optimal condition
In order to keep your metal bracelet in the best possible condition, we recommend that you clean it every six months, if you wear your luxury watch daily, in the following way: rub the bracelet with a supple brush soaked in soapy water. Then rinse it carefully in fresh water and dry it using a soft dry cloth.
Do the same after swimming in seawater or a swimming pool. In addition, to reduce the effects of wear, we advise you to keep your fine watch fitted close to the wrist. We recommend that you entrust the changing of your metal bracelet to either a Jaeger‑LeCoultre Boutique or an authorized Jaeger‑LeCoultre retailer.
Rubber straps
Maintaining rubber watch straps in optimal condition
Continual maintenance of a rubber strap is best ensured by cleaning it with soapy water. You may use a supple brush to ensure a perfect clean, and then rinse it carefully in fresh water and dry it using a soft dry cloth.
In order to preserve your rubber strap in the best possible condition, we recommend that you avoid the following situations:
- contact with nail varnish
- prolonged exposure to sunlight
Replacement
Replacing your watch straps and bracelets
The different watch straps and bracelets that are available for your Jaeger‑LeCoultre watch are as varied as the luxury watches themselves. However, the lifespan of Jaeger‑LeCoultre watch straps or bracelets, and thus the need for their replacement, depends on the material - leather, rubber or metal - and usage conditions - daily or occasional, normal or intensive. Under normal conditions, it is recommended that you replace leather straps approximately every 12 months, rubber straps every 18 months and metal bracelets every 10 years.
No matter the type of Jaeger-LeCoultre watch strap or bracelet, we recommend that you entrust their replacement to a Jaeger‑LeCoultre Boutique or an authorised Jaeger‑LeCoultre retailer.
