Master Grande Tradition

Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon with perpetual calendar

A remarkable combination of technical performance and high watchmaking tradition, this exceptional timepiece has added a new dimension to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s heritage in the form of a double complication movement. Its selfwinding calibre provides remarkable technical performance: titanium tourbillon cage, a high inertia and high frequency balance, oscillating mass mounted on ceramic beads. Entirely hand-decorated, it bears witness to the manufacture’s excellence in rare crafts. Its refined design and exclusive finishes are a true homage to traditional Fine Watchmaking.

Dual complications

The tourbillon in the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon with perpetual calendar attracts attention for its two-level construction. The pace of the two opposing rhythms enlivens this timepiece: a balance beating at eight vibrations per second and the slow rotation of the perpetual calendar some of the wheels of which will take 100 years to make a complete revolution.

Grand Refinement

A unique interplay of contrasts between the sides, the top, the horns and the caseback. The rounded polished bezel underscores the watchmaking heritage. The dial alternates between velvety soft surfaces and a Clous de Paris engine-turned pattern. The oscillating mass of this selfwinding calibre in 22-carat gold is decorated with a Clous de Paris pattern while the unique tourbillon bridge is decorated by hand.

Performance and reliability

With a silicon escapement, this limited series in 18-carat yellow gold is testimony to a specific level of reliability. Complex parts can be made using silicon because of its light weight and the manufacturing techniques involved. The new “Chronometer 1000 Hours” test performed on the finished watches is a guarantee of chronometric reliability and performance.

Label « 1000 Hours Chrono »

Specifically developed for the Master Grande Tradition watches with silicon escapement and inspired by the “1000 Hours Control” test, the new label “1000 Hours Chrono” introduces an additional stage entirely dedicated to precision.

This label applies the ISO 3159 chronometer norms governing the controls performed by the official Swiss chronometry testing authorities.

The high-precision Master Grande Tradition are tested for 16 days in five positions and at three different temperatures, according to the seven eliminatory criteria.
