UNIQUENESS: LA VALLÉE DES MERVEILLES™

LA VALLÉE DES MERVEILLES™

THE SPIRIT OF LA VALLÉE DES MERVEILLES™

From the serene heart of the Vallée de Joux, La Grande Maison draws its creative inspiration from the evolution of the natural world. This intrinsic bond finds its expression in La Vallée des Merveilles™, Jaeger-LeCoultre's series of limited-edition creations. Each timepiece is a tribute to the world’s most breathtaking natural sceneries. With this rich legacy as their compass, our craftsmen transform this beauty into miniature works of art, brought to life by our Métiers Rares™.

THE DELICATE BEAUTY OF JAPAN

In Hokkaido’s spring, landscapes are briefly adorned with pink cherry blossoms, a magical sight that has long inspired art and literature. More than a herald of spring, sakura symbolises the fleeting beauty of life, where every ending invites a new beginning. The crane, emblem of longevity, fidelity and serene elegance, embodies timeless grace, and paired with cherry blossoms, forms a poetic harmony of ephemerality and enduring beauty.

DESIGN

NATURAL SCENERIES IN DESIGN

The Reverso One, distinguished by its rectangular reversible case, refined Art Deco brackets and the use of precious materials, offers an infinite canvas for artistic expression. Its unique character is immediately apparent; the luminous mother-of-pearl dial captures and subtly reflects light, while a diamond-set crown adds a signature, refined sparkle.

ART SCENE AS A GLIMPSE

The exquisite diamond embellishment and artistic narrative gracefully embrace the timepiece's curved sides, transitioning flawlessly from the bezel to the reverse side. This uninterrupted sweep provides an alluring glimpse of the artistry, gently compelling the wearer to trace the motif and uncover the full art scene with each turn of the case.

HONOURING NATURE VIVID NUANCES

On the reverse side of the timepiece, a crane stands gracefully at the edge of a lake, beneath a delicate branch of cherry blossoms. The crane stands out with its body and upper wing feathers set with diamonds. Blue sapphires of two distinct shades and diamonds are artfully arranged to evoke the shimmering sparkle of sunlight on the water of the lake.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

MÉTIERS RARES™ CRAFTS

Crafted in a limited edition of just 20, each timepiece embodies the synergy of watchmaking precision and High Jewellery artistry, realised by our Métiers Rares™ atelier. The vibrant pink cherry blossoms, crane, and intricate foliage are brought to life through the Grand Feu champlevé enamelling technique. The case is further enhanced with both grain-setting and snow-setting.

VIBRANT NUANCES OF ENAMEL

The Grand Feu champlevé enamel involves hollowing various shapes out of the 18K white gold (750/1000) base, leaving only fine ribs of metal that form the outline of the image. The hollows are then filled, one thin layer at a time enamel and fired at up to 800°C after every layer to fuse and solidify the enamel and bring out the colour.

395 BLUE SAPPHIRES OF TWO SHADES

Each piece is kind of unique, as the placement of the precious stones, diamonds and blue sapphires in two distinct shades, is guided by the gem-setter’s intuition. Snow-setting requires the meticulous creation of individual holes, allowing stones in 9 different sizes to be set extremely close together. Secured by metal beads, they adorn the surface, maximising light reflection and brilliance.
