OVERVIEW

THE DEPTH OF BLUE SAPPHIRES

DESIGN

THE SPIRIT OF COCKTAIL WATCHES

Reflecting the lasting heritage of cocktail watches, which seamlessly merged watchmaking crafts with high jewellery design, the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds continues to influence modern aesthetic sensibilities.

DIALOGUE BETWEEN ERAS

Born from the Art Deco movement and first seen in the 1920s, cocktail watches truly came into their own during the 1930s, thereby transforming the wristwatch into a sophisticated evening accessory. These timepieces were notable for their distinctive fusion of watchmaking and high jewellery, using precious materials, diamonds, or vivid coloured gemstones.

ART DECO AESTHETICS

The distinctive design of the Reverso Tribute dial, featuring applied indexes, directly references the aesthetic of the 1931 original Reverso. The elongated and faceted finish of these indexes provides visual depth and mirrors the elegant form of the Dauphine hands as they sweep across the subtly grained dial.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

COMBINING FINE CRAFTS

Craftsmanship is central to the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds ‘Or Deco Cocktail’, which sensitively adapts time-honoured techniques, including intricate gem-setting and precise bracelet construction, for the modern era.

46 RAIL-SET VIVID BLUE SAPPHIRES

Through the rail setting technique, the gem-setter’s challenge lies in delicately folding the gold of the case over the 46 baguette-cut blue sapphires without compromising the stones. Each stone is set edge-to-edge and secured thanks to the rail and the case’s gold, creating a continuous flow of light with no other points of support.

16 METRES OF GOLD THREADS

Crafted using a method established in 13th-century Milan, the Milanese bracelet comprises 16 metres and hundreds of interwoven gold threads. Its fluid design is achieved through a process where each section is assembled, cut, hand-soldered, and polished. This 'pezza' structure, resembling fabric, represents a fusion of historical craftsmanship and modern refinement, culminating in a bracelet that is both delicate and supple.
