CRAFTSMANSHIP
CRAFTED IN OUR ATELIER DES METIERS RARES™
Each one of the 10 pieces is a unique work of art, brilliantly decorated with different techniques: Miniature painting for the vivid colours of the flowers, mirror painting for the foliage and gem-setting for the shininess of the rendering.
THE UNPREDICTABLE SHOOTING STAR
The dial is built from three superimposed layers. The top layer, made of transparent sapphire glass, is hand-painted with peonies and a moon, and features nearly 500 transferred stars. This layer conceals the shooting star when it is inactive. The middle layer is crafted from decorated mother-of-pearl and includes a laser-cut star mounted on a rotating disc. When activated, the disc spins, sending the star along a curved path across the upper dial. As it moves, the star-shaped cut-out reveals the lowest layer: a fixed disc made of silvery metal, finished with a glowing gradient that enhances the illusion of motion.

AN UNCOMPROMISING ATTENTION TO DETAILS
Defining the trajectory of the shooting star, a three-quarter circle of diamonds is set into the sapphire glass dial. This is achieved by integrating fine gold threads directly into the glass to anchor the diamonds and enhance the effect of transparency and lightness. The bezel is set with brilliant cut diamonds that draw the eye towards the dial and, in keeping with the aesthetic codes of the Rendez-Vous, the upper surfaces of the lugs, and the top of the crown are also diamond-set. On this model, the bracelet is entirely set with 436 diamonds, giving the watch a refined and luminous rendering.

HERITAGE
A REVOLUTION WORN ON THE WRIST
The very first wristwatches were worn by women in the early 1900s and were only later adopted by men. Edmond Jaeger and Jacques-David LeCoultre quickly understood that the wristwatch would revolutionise the entire industry. They also understood how this revolution could change the entire approach to watchmaking. The drive to craft watches that were thinner, more complex and that featured elements of high jewellery and complications, was inspired by women. For women, a watch was not only to tell time, but it was an ornament, a jewel, to accompany them throughout day and night. Our Rendez-Vous watch collection continues this proud tradition today.
